ImagiNATIONS: Festival Main Illustration

Digital Illustration
This illustration series responds to this year's SEAQCF theme, ImagiNATIONS, envisioning the future of queer individuals and communities within the Southeast Asian context. It transforms the festival into a vibrant celebration, highlighting themes of care and resilience and showcasing how queer communities collectively work towards an inclusive futures.
By referencing shared cultural elements across Southeast Asia, we aim to emphasize how reimagining the region can begin with acknowledging the common values that connect us. From everyday practices to shared traditions, these small yet significant details have long been ways to celebrate diversity, foster inclusion, strengthen community, and express care. Recognizing these collective threads not only highlights our interconnected histories but also serves as a foundation for building a more inclusive and compassionate solidarity across the region.
Inspired by the festival theme ImagiNATIONS, we remain hopeful for the future. Despite ongoing challenges such as censorship, state discrimination, and other barriers, we are committed to building networks that go beyond advocacy. Through artistic and cultural practices, we create spaces for dialogue and understanding while also embracing diverse approaches to advocacy. These practices allow us to break boundaries, foster solidarity, and imagine a more inclusive future together.
